We would like to thank each and everyone of you for making WordCamp Kathmandu 2018 a grand success. We concluded main day WordCamp Kathmandu on March 17th followed by first ever held Contributor day on March 18th. This was our third event under the name of WordCamp Kathmandu. WordCamps in Nepal were organized under the name of WordCamp Nepal and had been since the formation of WordPress Nepal in 2011.

Without YOUR support, we would not have been this successful. So, we would like to thank all who helped making WordCamp this grand and awesome. Without Sponsors, WordCamp Kathmandu would have never happened. Thank you to all our sponsors and supporters who have supported this event and making it available to WordPress enthusiasts. Cheers to our organizers and volunteers. Because of them WordCamp Kathmandu happened again this year. Special thanks to all speakers for sharing their knowledge and experience to all WordPressers. Big thanks to all attendees who participated the event helped making the event a success. Also, thanks to all who could not attend the venue, but always helped in the organization of the event and support every possible way for the WordCamp.

We’re excited to announce that this year’s after-party will be at Bajeko Sekuwa, Battisputali.

The after party is a chance to hangout with other attendees after WordCamp. It provides opportunities to talk with speakers, connect and explore new ideas and network with like-minded people.

It will start at 5:30 p.m. (right after closing remarks) and last until 8 p.m. Join us for drinks, snacks, and time spent with new friends!

• Wifi: We’ll have a WiFi Network connected to Internet fiber. It would be awesome if you bring your own data card, just in case 😉

• Don’t forget to confirm your participation by registering here. If you have already opted to attend contributor day then you are good to go and there’s no need to register once more.
• Consider bringing your laptop and charger with you.
• If you haven’t created your account on WordPress.org or on the WordPress Slack (the tool WordPress contributors are using to communicate with) then do so now!
• Take good care of yourself from now on until the 18th of March to be at 100% for the Contributor Day.

Happiness Bar is where you will gonna find happiness, … but…. how?? Many WordCamp regulars find they spend as much time in the Happiness Bar as they spend listening to presentations. And the reason is simple, the Happiness Bar is a place to interact in an environment free from internet trolls.

Many speakers will head for the happiness bar after their presentation, so if you want to further explore one of their ideas or have really specific questions, sit down with them and ask.

Whether you have a question you need answered, code that needs to be reviewed or just want to get some work done, this is the place to be. Come and ask questions, answer questions and meet new friends. If it’s a WordPress question, you can ask it at the Happiness Bar!

A Note: Not all problems can be solved quickly and easily. Although the Happiness Bar is a place to get you going in the right direction, you might need to continue the conversation after WordCamp. And, not to disappoint you, but that might cost money. Volunteers will do their best to help you as much as possible during the weekend, but sometimes, you just need a professional.

WordCamp Kathmandu is one among many WordCamps that happen around the world each year. If you already know about WordCamp 2017 but you’re still considering whether to go or not, these five reasons make it a must-attend event.

WordCamp is a casual conference with cool people that make networking super fun. No professional suits. No long-lasting lectures that put you to sleep. No awkward moments when you try to network. WordCamp not only enhances your WordPress skills, but it also provides a friendly and relaxed atmosphere, which makes it easy to meet new people and geek out over web design and coding.

2. It’s affordable – You can’t beat a conference that has over 20 speakers (from around the world and from locally) for $20 (NRs 2000/-) for the weekend. That weekend ticket also includes some nice swag, lunch, snacks, and a t-shirt (assuming you grab a ticket in time). Not to mention the after parties and networking socials. Again, it’s hard to find a tech conference with that price tag and that much value.

3. Get your questions answered by real people at the Happiness Bar – you will meet a community willing to help each other out, to teach, to debate, and or maybe just lend an ear. You will definitely get answers to your questions.

4. Network in a more casual, fun atmosphere – WordCamp atmospheres are relaxed, casual and welcoming to all regardless of skill-set or financial ability. There is no pepper them air in the atmosphere. We advise you get in your best comfortable attire and shoes because you will move around a lot, not an outfit that will make you praying the day goes by so fast because we promise you won’t want the day to end that fast.

5. Great For Users And Bloggers: You don’t have to be a developer, coder, or WordPress professional. You can be using WordPress for the first time, or just trying to figure out how to better your own business or website. You can find out how to use social media or content marketing to make your business better – and talk with people that have made it work for themselves.
