Thanks for making it your own!

First and foremost I would like to extend my gratitude to our Sponsors. Their support has played a role in making this incredible gathering possible. Next, our exceptional speakers, for gracing our stage with their incredible talks. Your commitment to sharing your knowledge is what truly sets WordCamp events apart. I also want to give a shout-out to our media partners for their coverage on social media as well as our Internet Partners, Payment Partners, and emcees for their remarkable efforts in guiding our sessions maintaining order, and keeping us on track with the schedule.

However, it is important to acknowledge that the heart and soul of WordCamp Kathmandu lies within all of you – the attendees. It is your enthusiasm, curiosity, and active participation that have transformed this event into a success. Your engaging questions and meaningful interactions have truly fueled the WordPress community. For that, we are deeply grateful.

The commitment of our Organizers and Volunteers, and dedication behind the scenes is what has made all the difference. I’m proud of my entire team’s diligence in completing this significant project with 5-6 months of continuous efforts, Without you all going above and beyond, WordCamp Kathmandu 2023 would not have been possible –We genuinely appreciate every one of you.

We take a moment to commemorate and pay tribute to the Late Ujwal Thapa Dai, the co-founding member of this community. Let us carry his legacy forward with pride and dedication.

We also take a moment to convey our sincere appreciation to Chandra Maharzan Dai and Sakin Shrestha Dai, the esteemed co-founders of our community. It is a distinct privilege to have both of you as guest speakers at WP Chautari, and your participation serves as a profound source of inspiration for each member of our community.

Last but not least I would like to express my heartfelt appreciation to Yam B. Chhetri Dai for being an invaluable supporter within our community, from day one – always providing dedicated help and advice. The W.P. Nepal Community has been greatly influenced by your contribution.

Our venue, Alice Receptions, deserves a special mention for providing us with the perfect space and flexibility to host this event.

Several major updates and improvements were made during WordCamp Kathmandu 2023. We developed the innovative notion of WP Chautari, which offered fruitful discussion and idea sharing. Additionally, we were successful in launching the do_action event, a project in which we banded together to build a free website for a nonprofit organization. We built a website for TajiLaji whose mission is to protect and preserve Nepal’s invaluable heritage sites and statues through the innovative use of modern technology. Similarly, we also had our WP Nepal community site live. Several informative panel discussions were held, which improved everyone’s learning opportunities. Notably, we also planned the contributor day for the first day to encourage participation and cooperation. We introduced “Conversation Starter Badges” to acknowledge the unspoken interests of our attendees. These changes seek to improve the WordCamp experience and encourage our WordPress community to always improve.

We are delighted to introduce our primary mascot, “Jhilpuu,” born from the fusion of “Jhilkey” and “Wapuu.” Within the context of WordCamp Kathmandu 2023, “Jhilpuu” has quickly risen to become one of the most beloved icons at this event, beautifully encapsulating the lively and joyful spirit of the WordPress Community while celebrating Nepal’s rich culture and heritage.

As we close this chapter, I invite you to WordCamp Asia 2024, happening on the 7th and 9th of March in Taipei, Taiwan. Also, to WordCamp Nepal 2024 which is happening on the 12th and 13th of January at Pokhara, Nepal. Together, let’s continue the WordPress adventure and make it a huge success.
