It represents unity and inclusivity in the global WordPress community.

The Fusion of Jhilkey and Wappu

The fusion of these two words, Jhilkey and Wapuu, in the context of WordCamp Kathmandu 2023, creates a mascot that embodies the lively and joyful spirit of the WordPress Community, celebrating the rich culture and heritage of Nepal.

And we’d like to introduce you firstly to our main mascot “Jhilkey”.

SAY HELLO TO OUR OFFICIAL WAPUU…JHILKEY!!!

In local Kathmandu terms, ‘Jhilkey’ translates to amusing, humorous, fashionable, and stylish. It embodies a sense of lightheartedness and delightfulness. Jhilkey sums up the essence of fun and playfulness, traits that often find a place in the hearts of WordCamp attendees.

“Jhilkey” for WordCamp Kathmandu 2023 is a delightful character that reflects the fusion of these concepts. It is fully dressed in traditional Nepalese attire, featuring a Dhaka Topi (a traditional Nepalese hat), Daura Suruwal, (a traditional male outfit), and Istacoat, completing the authentic look. The character also sports long wavy hair, giving it a unique, fun, and charming appeal.

This blend of traditional attire and modern adaptability perfectly symbolizes the harmony between WordPress, a platform for modern web development, and the rich cultural heritage of Nepal. It is a visual representation of how technology can seamlessly integrate with tradition and culture, creating something new and exciting.

In conclusion, Wapuu is more than just a symbol; it’s a celebration of how community, technology, and culture can coexist together.

Download Wapuu in JPG

Download Wapuu in PNG

SAY HELLO TO OUR OFFICIAL WAPUU…JHILKEY!
