Have you ever wanted to contribute to WordPress but didn\u2019t know where to start?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Contributor Day is a great place to begin. It\u2019s a day to learn, contribute, and work with people who are already part of the WordPress project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On September 18<\/strong>, experienced contributors will lead tables across Core, Themes, Plugins, Accessibility, Polyglots, Photos, Education, Training, Patterns, and Full Site Editing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can work on something new, build on your existing skills, or simply learn how WordPress is built behind the scenes. You don\u2019t need to be an expert. Each table will have contributors ready to guide you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here\u2019s a look at the people leading the Contributor Day tables at WordCamp Kathmandu 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ravi Khadka – Polyglots Table<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Ravi is a WordPress developer and open-source contributor from Nepal. He contributes across Polyglots, Core, Performance, Support, Themes, and Secure Custom Fields.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the Polyglots Table, he\u2019ll help contributors work on WordPress translations and make WordPress more accessible to people around the world.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Nasim Miah – Training Table<\/strong><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Nasim is a web developer, SEO expert, WordPress Accessibility Team Representative, and Core Contributor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the Training Table, he\u2019ll help contributors learn more about WordPress education and find ways to get involved with the Training team.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

As a Pattern Author and plugin developer, he\u2019ll guide contributors through creating reusable WordPress Patterns.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Nazmul Hasan Robin \u2013 Accessibility Table<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Nazmul has more than a decade of experience contributing to WordPress. He has worked across Core and several Make WordPress teams, including as an Accessibility Team Representative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He\u2019ll lead the Accessibility Table and help contributors work toward making WordPress more accessible for everyone.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Pooja Derashri \u2013 Education Table<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Pooja is a WordPress Community Team Representative. She works closely with initiatives such as Campus Connect, WordPress Student Clubs, and the WordPress Credits Program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She\u2019ll lead the Education Table and help contributors explore ways to get involved in WordPress education initiatives. She\u2019ll also join the WordCamp stage as a speaker on Conference Day.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Getting Ready for Contributor Day<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Now that you know who will be leading each table, it\u2019s time to get ready for Contributor Day. A little preparation before you arrive can make it easier to get started and make the most of your day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What to Bring<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Please bring:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \n
  • Your laptop and charger or power adapter<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Any necessary adapters or dongles<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • A notebook and pen, if you\u2019d like to take notes<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • A power bank, if available<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    Please Prepare Your Laptop Before Contributor Day<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    Different Contributor Teams may use different tools and software. If you already know which table you want to join, check what you may need and install the relevant tools beforehand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Here are a few things you may want to have ready:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    • Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, or Microsoft Edge<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Visual Studio Code<\/strong> or another code editor<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • WordPress.org account<\/strong> \u2013 Make sure you can log in successfully<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Local WordPress environment<\/strong> \u2013 If possible, set up a local WordPress environment using Local, XAMPP, MAMP, WAMP, LAMP, or another setup you are comfortable with<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

      Some teams may have additional requirements. If you\u2019re joining a specific team, check their recommended tools before Contributor Day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      If you\u2019re new to contributing or find the setup difficult, don\u2019t worry. The table leads and experienced contributors will be there to help you get started.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Before You Arrive<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

      Please make sure:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      1. Your laptop is fully charged.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      2. You can successfully log in to your WordPress.org account.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      3. Your operating system and installed applications are up to date.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      4. You have enough free disk space for any development tools you may need.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      5. Git and GitHub access are working if you plan to contribute to code.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      6. Your local WordPress environment is working, if you have set one up.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

        Contributor Day is for everyone, whether you\u2019re making your first contribution or already contribute regularly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        Take a look at the different tables and find one that matches your interests. You can learn from experienced contributors, meet other members of the community, and make your own contribution to WordPress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
