WordCamp Kathmandu 2022 Closing Remarks

Firstly, I would like to start by thanking all the sponsors for their generosity in helping us to make this event happen; the speakers for their excellent thought-provoking talks; media partners for their incredible social media coverage; Internet Partner, Payment Partner, and the emcees for organizing and animating sessions and keeping things both under control and reasonably on time. However, most importantly, I would like to thank you all, the participants. Without your enthusiasm and discussion, this event would not have been the success it has been.

Speaking about the success of the event, it is important to thank all of our organizers and volunteers for playing a vital role in its success. Also, I would like to thank our mentor, Yam B. Chhetri Dai. He has been providing regular support and suggestions to this community since the early days. Many of you already know that the WordPress Nepal community is now officially registered as a W.P. Nepal Community.

We are happy to announce this with great honor towards the initiator of this community, the late Ujwal Thapa Dai. As a tribute to him, we provided five free tickets for the Ujwal Thapa Scholarship at this WordCamp. We are also thankful to Alice Receptions for providing the perfect space for us with all the flexibility.

This WordCamp, we tried the “Say No To Plastic” campaign with the motive of saving our environment. We avoid all possible uses of plastic by using plastic-free materials. We also requested our sponsors to try not to bring plastics. We are also promoting WordCamp Nepal 2022 as well as WordCamp Asia 2023 to make them both a grand success. That couldn’t be possible without every WordPress enthusiast and community contributor like you all. So, I’d like to request you all to support and attend those events as well. WordCamp Nepal is happening again after 6 years and will take place at Chitwan Garden Resort, Bharatpur, Nepal, on November 5th and 6th, 2022. Likewise, WordCamp Asia is from February 17th to February 19th, 2023, in Bangkok, Thailand. Mark these days on your calendar.

At last, I would like to thank each one of us present here for the success of this event. Hats off to all for the remarkable contribution!

A look back at WordCamp Kathmandu 2022

Alright! There it is folks. The much anticipated WordCamp Kathmandu 2022 has finally come to an end.

With over 450 attendees, 23 speakers, 10 contribution day team leads, 2 media partners, 18 volunteers, and 18 organizing team members, #WCKTM2022 was a huge success. We also had the largest number of international attendees this year. Thank you for making WCKTM one of your own.

I would like to thank everyone involved in this, from our sponsors to speakers to organizers, volunteers and attendees. Without you, all this wouldn’t have been possible. This WordCamp showed how people were looking for events like this to happen so that they can go out and meet their friends and hang out like they did, before the pandemic. And with quite a few WordCamps lined up. We sure are in for a fabulous end of 2022 and an equally better start to 2023.

This also marked the second year of my lead for WordCamp Kathmandu and with this, I have passed the baton to an even better candidate Surendra Shrestha. I am more than certain, that he will carry this community event forward in an even better way.

Like always, we would also be publishing our budget on the site, pretty soon enough.

Once again, thank you so much everyone for being a part of and helping make this a success. I couldn’t be happier.

And with that note, I leave you the pictures of the WordCamp. Hope you enjoy them.

A big thanks to all our sponsors! See you in 2023 at WordCamp Kathmandu.

Once again, many thanks to all of our generous sponsors of WordCamp Kathmandu 2022. You may know that WordCamps are non-profit and volunteer-based community events. The entire budget of WordCamp comes from global and local sponsors. At this event, we got 30 sponsors, among whom 6 are global community sponsors and 24 are local.

With around 450 attendees, 23 speakers, 10 contribution day team leads, 2 media partners, 18 volunteers, and 18 organizing team members, #WCKTM2022 was a huge success. Among the total sponsors, we had 19 stalls on the event day. Each booth was swarming with attendees. We believe that all of the sponsors got the best attendee experience from the event.

Due to the COVID pandemic, everyone is seeking to attend in-person events after 2 years of pandemic delay. Sponsors made this WordCamp very affordable and the most significant event in our community.

Once again, I would like to thank all of the official sponsors for their generosity in supporting WordCamp Kathmandu 2022. Without your incredible contribution, we wouldn’t be able to host this top-level WordPress event. I am proud to be a part of this successful event. Moreover, I am highly grateful to all the sponsors as the sponsor wrangler of the event.

And a big thanks to all our sponsors! See you in 2023 at WordCamp Kathmandu.

Happiness Bar

Happiness Bar as the name says it’s a place where you will find happiness.

No, you won’t get drinks and refreshers there 😉

It’s a desk at WordCamp where you’ll get answers to any WordPress-related queries and questions from experts. At Happiness Bar, you can interact with WordPress experts one-to-one and get solutions to your problems.

After attending speakers’ sessions, you might have some questions you were uncomfortable asking them during the session or didn’t get a chance to ask due to time limitations. In that case, you can meet our speakers at the Happiness Bar, and ask them. All the speakers will be headed to Happiness Bar after their session and will be available there for a while to address your questions.

If anything is not working for you, or if you just want to explore more ideas on WordPress – make sure you visit Happiness Bar.

PS: Not all problems can be solved right away. Some issues need time, a few tests, and research to be solved.  However, our WordPress experts will try their best to help and guide you.
