Your Guide to Contributor Day at WordCamp Kathmandu 2026

Have you ever wanted to contribute to WordPress but didn’t know where to start?

Contributor Day is a great place to begin. It’s a day to learn, contribute, and work with people who are already part of the WordPress project.

On September 18, experienced contributors will lead tables across Core, Themes, Plugins, Accessibility, Polyglots, Photos, Education, Training, Patterns, and Full Site Editing.

You can work on something new, build on your existing skills, or simply learn how WordPress is built behind the scenes. You don’t need to be an expert. Each table will have contributors ready to guide you.

Here’s a look at the people leading the Contributor Day tables at WordCamp Kathmandu 2026.

Meet the People Leading Each Table

ravi-khadka

Ravi Khadka – Polyglots Table

Ravi is a WordPress developer and open-source contributor from Nepal. He contributes across Polyglots, Core, Performance, Support, Themes, and Secure Custom Fields.

At the Polyglots Table, he’ll help contributors work on WordPress translations and make WordPress more accessible to people around the world.

Nasim Miah

Nasim Miah – Training Table

Nasim is a web developer, SEO expert, WordPress Accessibility Team Representative, and Core Contributor.

At the Training Table, he’ll help contributors learn more about WordPress education and find ways to get involved with the Training team.

Madan GC

Madan G.C. – Patterns Table

Madan is a frontend developer and WordPress contributor who specializes in Gutenberg, Block Themes, and Patterns.

As a Pattern Author and plugin developer, he’ll guide contributors through creating reusable WordPress Patterns.

Nazmul Hasan Robin – Accessibility Table

Nazmul Hasan Robin – Accessibility Table

Nazmul has more than a decade of experience contributing to WordPress. He has worked across Core and several Make WordPress teams, including as an Accessibility Team Representative.

He’ll lead the Accessibility Table and help contributors work toward making WordPress more accessible for everyone.

Pooja Drashri

Pooja Derashri – Education Table

Pooja is a WordPress Community Team Representative. She works closely with initiatives such as Campus Connect, WordPress Student Clubs, and the WordPress Credits Program.

She’ll lead the Education Table and help contributors explore ways to get involved in WordPress education initiatives. She’ll also join the WordCamp stage as a speaker on Conference Day.

Bijay

Bijay Yadav – Themes & Theme Review Table

Bijay is a full-time WordPress.org contributor sponsored by Elementor. He reviews both classic and Full Site Editing themes.

At the Themes & Theme Review Table, he’ll help contributors learn more about theme development, review, and maintenance.

Rafiqul

Md Rafiqul Islam – Core Table

Rafiqul has been contributing to WordPress for nine years. His contributions include Core releases 6.5, 6.7, and 6.9, as well as Performance, Polyglots, and Test. He’ll help contributors take their first or next step into WordPress Core.

Santosh Kunwar – Full Site Editing Table

Santosh is the founder of Acme Themes and a WordPress developer with more than a decade of experience. He has worked extensively with React, Gutenberg, and Full Site Editing.

At the Full Site Editing Table, he’ll help contributors explore FSE and learn more about the direction of modern WordPress site building.

Alina
Uttkrista Chhetri

Alina Kakshapati & Uttkrista Chhetri – Photo Table

Alina is a longtime WordPress community contributor and WordPress.org Photo Moderator. Uttkrista is one of Nepal’s youngest WordPress contributors. He is also a Photo Moderator and passionate photographer. Together, they’ll help participants contribute to the global WordPress Photo Directory.

Rakesh Lawaju & Roshan Nagaju – Plugin Table

Rakesh is a WordPress product builder, Core contributor, and longtime community contributor. Roshan has more than 11 years of experience building custom WordPress plugins. Together, they’ll help contributors build, improve, and contribute to WordPress plugins.

Getting Ready for Contributor Day

Now that you know who will be leading each table, it’s time to get ready for Contributor Day. A little preparation before you arrive can make it easier to get started and make the most of your day.

What to Bring

Please bring:

  • Your laptop and charger or power adapter
  • Any necessary adapters or dongles
  • A notebook and pen, if you’d like to take notes
  • A power bank, if available

Please Prepare Your Laptop Before Contributor Day

Different Contributor Teams may use different tools and software. If you already know which table you want to join, check what you may need and install the relevant tools beforehand.

Here are a few things you may want to have ready:

  • Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, or Microsoft Edge
  • Visual Studio Code or another code editor
  • WordPress.org account – Make sure you can log in successfully
  • Local WordPress environment – If possible, set up a local WordPress environment using Local, XAMPP, MAMP, WAMP, LAMP, or another setup you are comfortable with

Some teams may have additional requirements. If you’re joining a specific team, check their recommended tools before Contributor Day.

If you’re new to contributing or find the setup difficult, don’t worry. The table leads and experienced contributors will be there to help you get started.

Before You Arrive

Please make sure:

  1. Your laptop is fully charged.
  2. You can successfully log in to your WordPress.org account.
  3. Your operating system and installed applications are up to date.
  4. You have enough free disk space for any development tools you may need.
  5. Git and GitHub access are working if you plan to contribute to code.
  6. Your local WordPress environment is working, if you have set one up.

Contributor Day is for everyone, whether you’re making your first contribution or already contribute regularly.

Take a look at the different tables and find one that matches your interests. You can learn from experienced contributors, meet other members of the community, and make your own contribution to WordPress.

Bring your laptop, come with questions, and be ready to learn.
